Job summary

Box is seeking a senior software/DevOps engineer to collaborate with engineering teams to build and improve tooling, CI pipelines, and automation frameworks for mobile, desktop, and web product development.

You will lead design discussions, apply AI-assisted tooling to reduce toil, and promote security and governance across the software delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development or DevOps/platform engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, C#, Swift, Ruby, TypeScript, or Go).
• Experience managing jobs and pipelines with Jenkins, Bitrise, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Parallels).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with mobile build tooling (Fastlane, Gradle, Xcode CLI).
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Strong design and analytical skills.
• Curiosity and pragmatic use of new tools, including AI.
• Experience collaborating in small, high-velocity agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to build and improve tooling and frameworks for mobile, desktop, and web development, focusing on mobile in the near term.
• Create and maintain in-house tools to automate repetitive tasks and boost efficiency.
• Work with CI pipelines, code-signing, release and deployment systems, crash metric ingestion, and automation frameworks.
• Investigate pain points in development processes and implement improvements.
• Lead and participate in design, planning, and architecture discussions.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to reduce toil responsibly.
• Propose design approaches and present pros/cons to engineers and management.
• Champion security, compliance, and artifact governance across the delivery lifecycle.
