Job summary

WP Engine in Poznań is seeking a Software Engineer in Platform Engineering to build and operate services within a global cloud platform. You will own defined services from implementation through deployment and operation, collaborating with senior engineers across teams.

You should have solid fundamentals, hands-on production experience, and curiosity to grow cloud and distributed systems expertise. Experience with Go and mixed technologies is valued, with a strong emphasis on platform

Qualifications

Solid software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building backend services or web platforms.
Go is preferred; other backend languages are acceptable if you can learn new technologies quickly.
Experience with HTTP APIs, RPC or service-to-service patterns, and relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC, and production operations in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Build, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and platform capabilities.
Develop and integrate APIs using established service and architecture patterns.
Work with relational data stores and contribute to reliable data access and service integration patterns.
Contribute to event-driven and asynchronous workflows and background jobs.
Run and support services across cloud and platform environments with containers, VMs, and managed services.
Use CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code workflows to deliver changes safely and repeatably.
Use logs, metrics, and traces to understand application behavior and diagnose production issues.
Participate in technical design discussions, ADRs, RFCs, and code reviews.
