Job summary

Cognism is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure that powers our high-scale development and deployment environment. You will join a small, capable Platform team and enable performance, reliability, and developer efficiency across the business.

You will collaborate with Security, Data, ML, and Product teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with technical and business goals, while owning incident readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience managing production systems on AWS.
• 2+ years using Kubernetes in production environments.
• 3+ years experience with Terraform and GitOps workflows.
• Proficient with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar observability tools.
• Scripting proficiency in Python or Bash; Linux background.
• CI/CD experience with Github Actions, ArgoCD or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable infrastructure powering Cognism's platform.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code to enable reliable deployments across teams.
• Evolve CI/CD pipelines to minimize downtime and speed delivery.
• Create tooling to improve developer experience and reduce workflow friction.
• Collaborate with Security, Data, ML and Product teams to align tech with business goals.
• Own post-deployment incident readiness, observability and failover planning.
• Drive continuous improvement through architecture discussions and retrospectives.
• Document systems and post-incident reviews for knowledge sharing.

OUR WORK MODEL

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work from our Warsaw office 2 days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days.

YOUR ROLE

As a Platform Engineer at Cognism, you will design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that powers our high-scale development and deployment environment. Working as part of a small but mighty Platform team, your expertise will be instrumental in driving performance, scalability, and developer efficiency across the business.

YOUR CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES

• Design Resilient Systems – Architect and maintain secure, scalable, and observable infrastructure to support Cognism’s growing platform needs.
• Streamline Deployments – Build and manage infrastructure-as-code to enable fast, standardized, and reliable deployments across teams.
• Advance CI/CD Pipelines – Evolve and maintain CI/CD systems that minimize downtime and maximize deployment speed and consistency.
• Boost Developer Experience – Create tooling and automation to reduce friction in development workflows and accelerate delivery.
• Foster Collaboration – Work cross-functionally with Security, Data, ML, and Product teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with both technical and business goals.
• Lead Incident Readiness – Own systems post-deployment, driving observability, failover planning, and incident response.
• Drive Continuous Improvement – Participate in architecture discussions, retrospectives, and planning to improve infrastructure processes and resilience.
• Champion Documentation – Create and maintain documentation and post-incident reviews to support shared learning and onboarding.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

• Cloud Expertise – 3+ years experience managing production systems on AWS (experience with Azure and AliCloud a bonus).
• Container Orchestration – 2+ years using Kubernetes in production environments.
• Infrastructure as Code – 3+ years experience with Terraform and GitOps workflows.
• Observability First – Proficient with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Loki, or similar tools.
• System-Level Thinking – Analytical mindset with the ability to consider the whole system, not just the task at hand.
• Automation & Scripting – Solid command of Linux and scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
• CI/CD Familiarity – Experience with Github Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Strong Communicator – Excellent collaboration skills with an ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Certifications Welcome – AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications are a plus, but not required.
• Proficiency in coding with Python or Golang
