EMEA Payroll Transformation Project Manager (m/f/d) — Kraków, Hybrid/Remote. We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who will lead and coordinate the transition and implementation activities from the client side. This role will act as the key liaison between Amer Sports, the global payroll provider, local payroll teams, HR, Finance, IT, and external stakeholders to ensure a successful and timely deployment across multiple countries. This is a contract-based opportunity for a seasoned professional with proven experience in managing global payroll transformation projects and vendor implementations.
What you will be doing:
- End-to-end payroll implementation & transition
- Lead the end-to-end implementation and transition to a global payroll vendor across 15+ countries
- Manage the project lifecycle from initial planning and preparation through country deployment, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization
- Ensure alignment of project objectives, scope, timelines, and resources across all involved countries and workstreams
- Project planning, governance & risk management
- Develop and maintain the overall project plan, timeline, governance structure, and risk management framework
- Manage country deployment schedules, dependencies, milestones, deliverables, and key project timelines
- Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, and executive status updates
- Monitor overall project progress and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, dependencies, and roadblocks
- Track open actions and issues, drive resolution, and elevate critical topics where required to ensure timely delivery against agreed objectives
- Stakeholder & cross-functional coordination
- Coordinate activities between the global payroll vendor, local payroll providers, internal Payroll teams, HR, Finance, IT, and other key stakeholders
- Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement throughout the implementation
- Maintain alignment between all parties on responsibilities, priorities, deliverables, and project requirements
- Ensure potential impacts on timelines, scope, resources, and country deployments are identified and addressed proactively
- Testing, cutover & go-live readiness
- Oversee testing activities, parallel payroll runs, cutover planning, and go-live readiness across all countries
- Coordinate readiness activities and ensure all relevant stakeholders, processes, systems, and deliverables are in place before each deployment
- Support the transition into production and ensure a smooth and controlled go-live
- Change management, hypercare & continuous improvement
- Support change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement activities throughout the transformation
- Support the hypercare period by highlighting, tracking, and coordinating the resolution of post-go-live issues and monitoring improvements
- Drive lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
What you need to succeed:
Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager leading global payroll implementation or payroll transformation projects
- Demonstrated experience working with global payroll vendors and managing multi-country payroll migrations
- Experience managing complex international projects involving multiple stakeholders and countries simultaneously
- Experience implementing global payroll platforms and solutions
- Experience working within multinational organizations
Language Skills
- Professional-level English, both written and spoken
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of payroll operations, payroll governance, compliance considerations, and vendor management
- Strong knowledge of project planning, project governance, risk management, and delivery methodologies
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll integrations
- Knowledge of payroll operations across EMEA and other international regions
- Experience managing project timelines, dependencies, milestones, deliverables, and resources in a complex international environment
