Job summary

WSI Europe is seeking an experienced Application Engineer – Orbital Welding to advance our capabilities in manual and automated orbital TIG welding of piping systems. The role combines hands-on welding, site supervision, team development and tender support.

You will prepare processes, program equipment, troubleshoot issues and transfer knowledge across the team. You will coordinate welding projects at industrial sites in Poland and abroad, read technical drawings, ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of piping welding experience, including orbital TIG welding (2–3 years).
• Experience in setting up, programming and operating automated orbital welding equipment.
• Experience with welding carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read isometrics, P&IDs, weld maps and related quality documents.
• Knowledge of ISO 14732, ISO 9606, ISO 15614 or ASME BPVC IX; ISO/B31.3 or EN 13480 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse, logistics, procurement and supply chain activities.
• Prepare, commission and optimise orbital TIG welding processes for piping systems.
• Program and troubleshoot automated orbital welding heads.
• Plan and supervise welding work from joint prep to inspection and handover.
• Assess when orbital welding is justified and when manual TIG is better.
• Analyze root causes of welding non-conformities and reduce repair rates.
• Collaborate with Quality, Welding Engineering, Project Management and Sales teams; interface with inspectors.
• Support NDT planning and result analysis.
• Develop and manage welder training programs and qualification tests.
• Assist in tender preparation by estimating productivity, material and equipment requirements.
