Job summary

WSI is seeking an Application Engineer – Orbital Welding in Radom, Poland to develop capabilities in manual and automated orbital TIG welding of piping systems. You will supervise site work, train staff, and provide technical support during tenders, while preparing processes and troubleshooting issues.

We value hands-on welding expertise, programming automated welding heads and strong communication in English. Willingness to travel internationally and shifts is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years piping welding experience, including 2–3 years orbital TIG welding.
• Experience setting up, programming and operating automated orbital welding equipment.
• Experience in piping repairs and tie-ins to existing installations.
• Very good knowledge of manual and orbital TIG welding.
• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, weld maps, weld numbering and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 14732, ISO 9606, ISO 15614 or ASME BPVC Section IX.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 or EN 13480.
• English at least B2 level for technical communication.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work shifts (including nights).
• Category B driving licence; medical fitness for industrial sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse, logistics, procurement and supply chain activities.
• Preparing, commissioning and optimising orbital TIG welding processes for piping systems.
• Programming and troubleshooting automated orbital welding heads.
• Planning and supervising welding work from joint preparation to inspection and handover.
• Assessing when orbital welding is justified versus manual TIG welding.
• Analyzing causes of welding non-conformities and reducing repairs/rejections.
• Cooperating with Quality, Welding Engineering, Project Management and Sales teams, plus client reps and inspectors.
• Supporting the planning of NDT inspections and analysing results.
• Developing and managing a training programme for welders and orbital welding operators.
• Providing hands-on training and preparing employees for qualification tests.
• Supporting tender preparation by estimating productivity, cycle times, materials, gas and equipment needs.
• Participating in projects at industrial sites in Poland and abroad.
