Job summary

Sopra Steria is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join our international delivery team in Poland. You will manage Oracle environments, ensure performance, and support migrations to cloud platforms. The role requires strong English and collaboration across multiple IT domains.

You will work in a two-shift schedule with on-call duties, located in Katowice or Gdańsk, Poland. EU citizenship and willingness to commute are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, including support of production environments.
• Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture and hands-on experience with installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and day-to-day administration.
• Experience with Oracle backup, restore, and recovery operations, including RMAN.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for database incidents and performance issues.
• Good knowledge of SQL, Oracle administration utilities, and database security concepts (users, roles, privileges).
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and following change/security procedures.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an international environment.
• Professional level of English.

Responsibilities

• Installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching Oracle database systems.
• Monitoring database availability, performance, capacity, and health.
• Performing regular maintenance and optimization activities.
• Managing database users, roles, privileges, and security.
• Implementing and validating backup and recovery solutions.
• Performing restore and recovery operations.
• Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity tests.
• Troubleshooting incidents and performance issues.
• Root cause analysis and technical recommendations.
• Supporting migrations from on-premises to cloud platforms.
• Automating recurring tasks and maintaining documentation.
• Participating in change management and production support.
• Collaborating with infrastructure, OS, network, security, and cloud teams.
• Participating in on-call rotation.
