Auctane in Poland (Wroclaw) is seeking a Database Engineer (DBE) to design, implement, and optimize Oracle-based data infrastructure, ensuring availability and performance for critical applications.

The role collaborates with IT and development teams, requires hands-on Oracle DB administration, RMAN, Linux, and strong SQL skills, and includes on-call shifts.

Candidates should have a CS degree, English/Polish conversational skills, and a proactive approach to data security and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL and proficiency in managing SQL databases.
• Experience with RMAN and backup/recovery operations.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of database security best practices, encryption, and auditing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Polish and English conversational level required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Oracle database solutions.
• Maintain data integrity, security, and performance.
• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases across environments.
• Plan backups, RMAN strategies, and disaster recovery tests.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot slow queries and locks.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL and data access.
• Provide on-call support and respond to production incidents.
• Document runbooks and operational procedures.
