Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop optical components and systems for automotive applications.
- Analyze, optimize, and validate optical performance of vehicle camera systems.
- Perform optical simulations and ray-trace analyses using industry-standard software such as Zemax, CodeV, LightTools, or equivalent tools.
- Define, execute, and interpret optical tests and validation activities.
- Evaluate image quality using metrics such as Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), distortion, glare, and other camera performance indicators.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and product development teams to ensure successful product integration.
- Support the transition of optical designs from development to mass production.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues while driving continuous product improvement.
Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Physics or Optics,
- Minimum 3 years experience in Automotive Industry: preferred in the areas of internal and/or external cameras,
- Minimum 3 years experience in design of optical components and/or systems,
- Familiarity with radiometers, imaging photometry and lens testing equipment and optical design experience with ray trace analysis software (e.g. Zemax, CodeV, LightTools, etc.) and experience transitioning designs to production is highly desired,
- Familiarity with image quality metrics including Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), glare, distortion and other camera performance measures is required,
- Good written and spoken English ability,
