Job summary

Yukon Group in Białystok is seeking an experienced Optical Design Engineer to join our R&D team and develop advanced optical and opto-mechanical systems from concept to production.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years with Zemax OpticStudio, strong optics knowledge, CAD skills, and hands-on experience with tolerancing, coatings, and system modelling. English and Russian language skills are desired, and a monthly salary is offered with performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Zemax OpticStudio (ZOS).
• Strong knowledge of geometric and wave optics.
• Experience in optical system design and modelling from concept to implementation.
• Practical experience with multi-element systems, optimisation, tolerancing and image quality analysis.
• Experience in optical coatings design and optimisation.
• Ability to perform optical analysis (MTF, PSF, spot diagrams, irradiance, luminance).
• Experience with opto-mechanical systems (assembly, alignment, testing).
• Basic knowledge of mechanical/thermomechanical analysis tools (e.g., Ansys).
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360).

Responsibilities

• Design and optimise optical systems (imaging, illumination, beam shaping).
• Develop and analyse aspheric components, considering manufacturability.
• Perform optical simulations and analysis to ensure system performance.
• Conduct tolerancing and sensitivity analysis.
• Collaborate on testing of electro-optical systems and components.

• Basic knowledge of mechanical / thermomechanical analysis tools (e.g., Ansys)
• Experience with Python for data processing or automation
• Familiarity with ISO / MIL standards
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)

Nice to have

• Experience working with electro-optical components (CMOS, CCD, OLED, LCOS, etc.)

Attention to detail, ownership, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work in a team.

Language requirements

• English and Russian sufficient for effective communication with colleagues and partners

• Salary from 18000 to 26000 PLN (with monthly bonus included) before taxes.
