Job summary

Software Mind is seeking an OpenStack-focused engineer to join a private cloud project for enterprise clients in Western Europe. You will install and operate OpenStack components, configure infrastructure, and automate tasks for production platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, mentoring from senior engineers, and a clear path to senior levels. Remote-friendly with international projects and strong emphasis on collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production Linux administration including OpenStack
• Experience with core OpenStack services: Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Placement, Horizon
• Ability to diagnose failures with OpenStack CLI and logs
• Understanding API, scheduler, agent components and message queue
• Familiarity with containerized services and OpenStack deployment frameworks
• Strong networking knowledge: VLANs, routing, NAT, overlay networks
• English ability for technical docs and client communication

Responsibilities

• Install and configure OpenStack components with Kolla-Ansible per design
• Prepare infrastructure nodes: OS, KVM, container runtime, network/storage access
• Configure network and storage: OVN, VLANs, Cinder, boot-from-volume
• Deploy monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, OpenSearch
• Handle incidents and service requests per SLAs
• Perform planned changes: patching, node replacement, VM evacuation
• Maintain repos via merge requests and promote changes
• Automate with Ansible and CI pipelines; participate in on-call rotation
