Job summary

Nightingale Education Group is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support nursing course redevelopment efforts. This part-time role focuses on revising and improving courses to enhance clarity, rigor, and effectiveness, updating materials, learning activities, and assessments for clinical judgment and practice readiness.

The SME will collaborate with instructional design, assessment, and VR teams, staying current with nursing practice advancements and ensuring content

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required; doctoral preparation preferred.
• Active RN license required.
• Demonstrated expertise in nursing specialty areas.
• Experience teaching or serving as SME in curriculum development.
• Familiarity with AACN Essentials and NCLEX/NGN expectations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as content expert in nursing specialty areas (pharmacology, med-surg, public health, etc.).
• Assist in creating and redeveloping course content with clinical context and evidence-based guidance.
• Provide insights to ensure content reflects real-world practice and patient care scenarios.
• Contribute to development and review of NGN-style items and case studies.
• Validate content for clinical accuracy and relevance for learners at target levels.
• Collaborate with instructional design, assessment, and VR teams on content development.
• Participate in content validation sessions with internal teams and SMEs.
