Job summary

Orsted Germany seeks a senior Network Architect to define and govern enterprise network architecture across cloud and on‑prem environments, developing standards and reference designs, and guiding implementation with global teams.

You will anchor architecture patterns, drive optimization including automation, and collaborate with solution managers, engineers, and vendors to align technologies with strategy and ensure scalable, secure networking solutions.

Qualifications

• Cisco CCNP/CCIE and architecture certifications (TOGAF/ArchiMate) with hands-on tech experience.
• Experience with cloud networking in Azure/AWS and regulated environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL, SAFe and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001/NIS2/NERC CIP.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.

Job description

Welcome to Digital, IT & Operations (DI&O) Architecture

Join us in this role where you'll define and govern network architecture across cloud and on-prem environments, develop standards and reference designs, and guide implementation across the infrastructure landscape while collaborating with architects, engineers, and product teams globally.

You'll be part of the Network Product Line architecture team where you, together with your colleagues, will define architecture standards, guide global infrastructure delivery, and ensure scalable, secure, and consistent networking solutions across business units and platforms.

As a team, we collaborate closely across domains, share knowledge, and continuously develop to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality infrastructure solutions.

You’ll play an important role in:

• designing and documenting enterprise network architecture for cloud and on-prem environments, aligned with business requirements and reference architectures based on Cisco, Palo Alto and Citrix technology stack
• identifying architecture patterns, develop guidelines, reference and solution architectures and anchor these in the Orsted's Network Product Line
• supporting change management by guiding technology implementation, testing, and service transition across its lifecycle
• identifying and driving optimization opportunities across infrastructure, including automation and process improvements
• shaping and recommending technologies, translating business needs into architecture designs, features, and user stories
• collaborating with solution managers, architects, engineers, and vendors to align technologies with strategy and ensure consistent implementation.

To succeed in the role, you:

• hold relevant technology certifications - Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto Network Security Architect/Network Security Professional, architecture certifications - TOGAF, ArchiMate or equivalent experience, combined with hands-on expertise in key technologies such as Cisco ACI, SD-Access, SD-WAN, Citrix NetScaler, and Palo Alto firewalls
• have exposure to cloud networking in Azure or AWS platforms and to regulated or compliance-driven environments
• worked with IT frameworks such as ITIL, SAFe and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIS2 or NERC CIP
• possess general knowledge and skills in programming, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Configuration Management with Ansible
• have deep and profound experience with infrastructure architecture, solution design and documentation
• understand end-to-end infrastructure delivery, including installation, testing, and service transition.
