Job summary

Hitachi Energy Kraków Research Center seeks a Research Scientist with expertise in Machine Learning for Simulations to enhance simulation-based engineering processes and develop future applications for power grids. You will join a dynamic, creative team and blend theory with practice to create, test and validate new technologies for the energy transition.

You will collaborate with global researchers, develop surrogate ML models, and contribute to ML-driven improvements of numerical simulations,

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
• Experience with ML and AI technologies in conjunction with numerical simulations.
• Design, implement and run ML training and inference pipelines for industrial use.
• Understanding of CFD-type solvers and power grid simulations; Python proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a global team to apply ML to simulation-based engineering challenges.
• Lead ML research related to surrogate models and ML-driven improvements of simulations.
• Develop ML-driven simulation pipelines and automate processes.
• Publish results in scientific journals and reports; engage with external partners.
