Job summary

Tesco Technology is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing Data Science Engineering team in Kraków. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and analytics professionals to deliver scalable ML solutions that improve customer experiences and operational efficiency.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience building MLOps systems, strong Python skills, and a track record deploying models to cloud environments such as Azure. Hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, computer science, maths or science.
• Customer focus balancing outcomes and technical excellence.
• Demonstrable experience building MLOps systems.
• Commercial experience delivering high-impact Data Science projects.
• Awareness of emerging MLOps practices and tooling (feature stores, model lifecycle).
• Analytical mindset for solving business problems.
• Proficient in at least one language, ideally Python.
• Experience with Git and related tooling.
• Experience with monitoring/logging/alerting tools (Splunk, Grafana).
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with open-source Data-Science environments.
• Knowledge of Apache Spark.
• Experience deploying cloud solutions, ideally Azure.
• Experience with Scrum & Kanban.
• Background in retail/logistics/ecommerce advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Participating in group discussions on system design and architecture.

• Collaborating with Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Product teams.
• Delivering high-quality code and production-ready solutions.
• Conducting code reviews to optimize performance.
• Supporting production systems, incidents, and root cause analysis.

• Collaborating on complex initiatives via working groups.
• Building solutions using GenAI.
• Applying SDLC practices to create and release robust software.
