Job summary

Vention in Kraków is seeking a Data Engineer to join a hybrid team building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms in cloud environments. You will work with Python, SQL, and Spark to integrate diverse datasets and deliver analytics-ready data for product and business decisions.

Requirements include 2+ years in data engineering, strong Python/SQL, Spark/PySpark, and experience with AWS services or Azure Databricks; English at B2+.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency
• Experience with Spark or PySpark for distributed processing
• Experience with AWS (Glue, S3, Lambda) or Azure Databricks
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink) is a plus
• Infrastructure knowledge (Kubernetes, Terraform) is a plus
• Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)
• B2+ English, with experience communicating with English-speaking customers

What you’ll do

• Build, optimize, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, or Databricks)
• Integrate and manage diverse datasets, ensuring accessibility and quality for analytics and machine learning
• Design and maintain cloud-native, high-performance data architectures that scale with our business needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient data solutions
• Analyze data and create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to uncover trends and support decision-making
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud data technologies and industry best practices, bringing innovation to our data ecosystem

What you bring

• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• Strong experience with Python and SQL
• Solid knowledge of Spark/PySpark for distributed data processing
• Experience with AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda) or Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, Key Vault, DevOps)
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink) would be a plus
• Infrastructure knowledge (Kubernetes, Terraform) would be a plus
• Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• B2+ English, with experience communicating with English‑speaking customers
