  • Knowledge of construction standards, codes (PED) and ASME BPVC, BS-EN welding/NDT/piping/steel structures/tanks.
  • Experience with rotating equipment inspections.
  • Hazardous Area installation and ATEX inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations.
  • University degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Excellent command of English; Polish is a plus.
  • Familiar with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety standards and comply with the Project’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements.
  • Liaise with construction team for quality issues.
  • Issue RFIs to the Client and maintain inspection progress records.
  • Issue quality records and inform the QC Supervisor for non-conformities.
  • Inspect materials/equipment during receipt and verify requirements.
  • Monitor preservation of equipment during storage/handling and after installation.
  • Check welding activities and verify NDT inspections.
  • Prepare hydrotest packs and perform functional checks.
  • Assist registration activities of plant equipment with local authorities (UDT).
  • Compile submission documentation for pressure/lifting equipment for UDT registration.

Job Description: We are currently seeking a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join our team in Turek, Poland, supporting the construction of a 560MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant. This role offers a strong opportunity to play a key part in the delivery of a large-scale energy infrastructure project, with responsibility for civil works execution, site coordination, and compliance with quality, safety, and design standards.

Requirements
  • Previous experience 3-5 years on mechanical QA/QC activities in Power Plants or Oil & Gas industry
  • Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice, regulations / legislation (PED) in general and in particular of ASME BPVC codes and BS-EN welding/NDT/piping/ steel structures/ tanks standards.
  • Experienced with rotating equipment inspections
  • Hazardous Area installation and equipment ATEX inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Familiar with MS Office Package (excel, outlook etc)
  • University Degree education level, mechanical engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Nice to have: Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written Polish
  • Nice to have :Experience in registration of lifting and pressure equipment at Polish authorities (UDT/TDT)
Responsibilities
  • Maintain standards of safety and comply with Project’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements.
  • Reports to Site Quality manager, liaise with construction team for quality issues
  • Issues relevant Request for Inspection (RFI) to the Client and maintains a relevant register file for the progress of inspections.Verifies that inspections are performed to the extent defined within the ITPs, by the appropriate staff, with the calibrated equipment, as required. - Checks all required inspection points and reports as specified within the ITPs and monitors records within Schedules.
  • Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, informs the Quality Control Supervisor for non-conformities.
  • Inspect materials/ equipment during receipt, verify compliance with the requirements
  • Monitor preservation of equipment during storage/handling and after installation
  • Checks Instrument / Machinery calibration certificates.
  • Controls equipment installation, alignment and leveling.
  • Inspect welding activities (before/during and after welding). Verify NDT inspections
  • Verify installation according to P&ID and erection drawings.
  • Prepare hydrotest packs prior hydrotesting
  • Performs functional checks and mechanical completion checks (including hydrostatic tests)
  • Verify installation of rotating equipment (pumps etc. ) acc. to the requirements
  • Verify erection and welding activities of tanks/vessels according to the requirements
  • Updates / controls as built drawings.
  • Support registration activities of plant equipment to the local authorities (UDT)
  • Prepare the pressure/lifting equipment UDT description forms
  • Compile/collect submission documentation of pressure/lifting equipment required for UDT registration
  • Liaise with UDT authorities for expediting the registration process
  • Performs / participates to the final walk downs with the Local authorities, Customer, Subcontractor(s), Construction Engineers etc. and verifies the recording of observations (punch items) that may have occurred after the walk down of the inspectors in the relevant list. - Monitors the progress of closing the punch items by the responsible personnel.
