Job summary

Elusav Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Lead for a major Data Centre project in Frankfurt. You will oversee delivery of mechanical packages from installation to handover and lead engineers to ensure on-time, safe project execution.

The position requires a trade background and 3+ years as a Mechanical Engineer, with AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office proficiency. Some travel to Ireland may be required; responsibilities include safety, QA, cost control and weekly reporting.

Responsibilities

• Management of Site Safety with the project team and Safety Advisor, including safety file setup and closing.
• Lead team of engineers and supervisors, coordinating with other disciplines to avoid delays.
• Manage Site QA for the Mechanical package including setup, management and close out of files.
• Oversee Project Schedule in conjunction with the Project team and Client requirements.
• Control all costs related to the project including labour, material, plant and variations.
• Manage day-to-day site operations and supervision of sub-contractors.
• Maintain weekly minuted meetings with sub-contractors and ensure progress tracking.
• Prepare weekly internal and external progress reports and highlight risks and delays.
• Ensure Sub-contractor documentation, safety docs and QA files are kept up to date.

Job description

Elusav Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Lead with one of the most reputable and largest Engineering contractors in Europe.

As the Mechanical Lead you will join a Data Centre project, based in Frankfurt and will be responsible for the supporting the delivery of mechanical packages from install through to handover.

Responsibilities:

• Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety Advisor. This will include the set-up, management of and closing out of the safety file.
• Lead team of engineers and supervisors and co - ordinate with other disciplines to ensure there are no impacts or delays to schedule.
• Management of Site QA, specifically with regards to the Mechanical package including set up, management and close out of file.
• Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with the Project team, consulting Engineer and Client requirements.
• Management of all costs associated with Project including: Labour; Material; Plant and Equipment; Variations; Valuations.
• Management of all day-to-day site operations.
• Management of sub-contractor activities include tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minuted meeting with sub-contractor.
• Management of the company "In Progress" snagging system ensuring that the supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable.
• Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator for tracking centrally.
• Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings.
• Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan - all with the support of the site project manager.
• Upload to the project Filekey system, with the support of the project QS, internal weekly progress report rolled up from project supervisors report. This will highlight progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns. It should also highlight any risk elements within the control of the company, eg: late deliveries.
• Issue internal weekly progress report, to the Project Manager, highlighting areas not available, and delays, shortage of design, third party hold ups and percentage. This will be rolled up into the external Project report.
• Ensure all Sub-contractor documentation including safety documentation is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
• Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan - all with the Support of your Project team.
• Issue weekly safety stats & project labour projections.
• Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations are being captured and costs issued to the client.
• Ensure all KPI's both internal and external are achieved.
• Develop and implement company procedures with your team.
• Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme).
• All other duties associated with this role.
