Job summary

Aviva plc is seeking a Data Engineering Tech Lead to shape and deliver a cloud-native Master & Reference Data platform (MDM/RDM). You will lead a cross-functional team building Kafka-based pipelines, using AWS services and containerised microservices, while embedding governance and data quality across domains like Customer, Product, and Supplier.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering with MDM/Reference Data focus.
• Experience with Kafka-based event-driven architectures (MSK).
• Proficiency with AWS data stack (Glue, S3, ECS, Aurora/Postgres).
• Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python expertise.
• Experience leading engineers and driving platform delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor data and backend engineers for MDM/RDM delivery.
• Translate domain models into implementable designs and enforce best practices.
• Develop and operate event-driven data pipelines and microservices.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance across master data systems.
• Collaborate with governance tools to maintain metadata and standards.
