Job summary

Philip Morris International in Kraków seeks a Senior Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Platform team and drive scalable, cloud-based data solutions powering analytics and AI across PMI.

You will lead data onboarding, collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Data Scientists, and Engineering teams to design robust data products using AWS, Snowflake, Matillion, and dbt, while mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience delivering scalable cloud-based data engineering solutions.
• Experience as a Data Eng. Lead or similar leadership role.
• Strong AWS expertise: S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Glue, Step Functions, IAM.
• Deep Snowflake proficiency: performance optimization, governance.
• Proven SQL, ETL/ELT, and data modelling skills.
• Knowledge of data quality, metadata, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical advisor to Product Owners and domain leaders on data engineering architecture and platform capabilities.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud-enabled data solutions across the full delivery lifecycle.
• Drive data ingestion, transformation, standardization, and harmonization initiatives within the Enterprise Data Platform.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS, Snowflake, Matillion, and dbt.
• Define and enforce reusable engineering patterns, development standards, and best practices.
• Design and maintain physical data models and reusable feature layers supporting analytical and AI/ML use cases.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, data governance, privacy, and security requirements.
• Collaborate with data scientists to enable feature engineering, model lineage, reproducibility, and model consumption.
• Lead technical delivery teams, including vendor partners, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
• Drive performance optimization and cost-efficiency strategies across data platforms and cloud services.
• Promote engineering excellence through documentation, governance, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
