Job summary

CompSci, LLC is seeking a seasoned Product Owner to own and prioritize Marketplace product work. You will ensure the development team focuses on delivering high-value functionality and translate business needs into well-defined features and stories.

You will collaborate with engineering, QA, UX/UI, and stakeholders to refine the backlog, define requirements, and guide the product through discovery to release in a remote, distributed team setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, or similar role.
• Experience owning and prioritizing software product backlogs.
• Experience with software engineering, QA, and UX/UI teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development practices.
• Experience with ecommerce, marketplace, or other transaction-oriented platforms.
• Technical aptitude to understand APIs, integrations, data flows, system dependencies, and architecture.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and prioritize the Marketplace backlog based on business objectives and priorities.
• Work with stakeholders to understand opportunities, requirements, and desired outcomes.
• Translate business needs into defined features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows.
• Lead backlog refinement and collaborate with engineering and QA through sprint planning and releases.
• Provide timely product decisions and requirements clarification to keep teams moving.
• Develop understanding of Marketplace functionality, rules, and integrations.
• Define requirements for vendor catalog ingestion, pricing rules, and promotions.
• Own end-to-end requirements across discovery, accounts, carts, checkout, and orders.
• Define integrations with vendors and external systems including APIs and data exchanges.
