Job summary

Thrive IT Systems in Kraków seeks an experienced Mainframe Storage Administrator to design, install, upgrade and support IBM zSeries Storage environments. You will manage DS8K storage platforms, DSCLI scripting and TS7700 Virtual Tape solutions to ensure stability and scalability.

Join a global team to monitor SAN environments, perform capacity planning and troubleshoot storage, tape and mainframe issues with strong root-cause analysis capabilities.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience with IBM zSeries Storage Management.
• Expertise in IBM DS8K storage platforms.
• Experience with DSCLI scripting and HMC GUI administration.
• Strong knowledge of IBM TS7700 Virtual Tape solutions.
• Experience administering Brocade DCX SAN environments.
• Strong understanding of FICON and Fibre Channel concepts and configuration.
• Experience using SANnav and MAPS for storage monitoring and administration.
• Strong IBM zOS knowledge including zOS, TSO, SDSF, JCL, IDCAMS, IWS.
• Strong IBM Storage software knowledge including DFHSM, DFDSS, ICKDSF, DFSMS with OAM, TDMF, GDPS, CSM.
• Experience with Broadcom CA tools (CA1, CA Vantage, CA Disk, CA Allocate, CA View).
• Experience with Dino Software tools (TRex).
• Knowledge of Incident Problem and Change Management processes.

Responsibilities

• Configure and support Brocade DCX SAN environments including FICON and Fibre Channel.
• Administer and monitor SAN environments using SANnav and MAPS.
• Manage storage-related software across IBM zOS environments.
• Perform storage capacity planning, growth forecasting and scalability assessments.
• Support incident, change and problem management activities.
• Troubleshoot storage, tape, SAN and mainframe-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with zOS System Programmers, Batch Management teams, Infrastructure teams and Application teams.
• Ensure platform stability, reliability, availability and operational excellence across enterprise storage services.
