Job summary

Solid Company in Kraków seeks a Batch Scheduling Specialist for enterprise IT services in a mainframe environment. You will focus on batch scheduling, IBM z/OS, JCL, and IWS, ensuring stability and performance while collaborating with the DevOps team on incidents and changes.

The role involves automating deployment and monitoring, upholding SLAs and data quality, and communicating in English with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in batch scheduling or enterprise IT operations.
• Solid knowledge of JCL for IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
• Good knowledge of IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS).
• Basic knowledge of Horizon IWS Graph, BatchCP, BatchAD, and XINFO.
• Understanding of incident and change management processes.
• Understanding of SLAs and service quality requirements.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Nice-to-have knowledge of German.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational stability, integrity and availability of supported IT services.
• Ensure compliance with service management standards and data quality requirements.
• Support incident identification, troubleshooting and resolution with DevOps.
• Help ensure service resilience and recovery time objectives.
• Implement infrastructure changes while maintaining service quality.
• Support changes to meet performance, availability, security and resilience requirements.
• Automate build, testing and deployment processes across environments.
• Improve automation, CI, monitoring and maintenance processes.
