Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a global automotive manufacturer in Kraków to recruit a Lead Maintenance Manager for a highly automated Body-in-White facility. You will lead the BIW maintenance team and ensure high availability of robotics and production systems.

You will drive technology deployment, support investments and ramp-up activities, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to optimize downtime and performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance/engineering experience in automotive.
  • Experience leading technical or maintenance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic welding and automation.
  • Proven ability to analyze KPIs and drive improvements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Body-in-White Maintenance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of production equipment and robotic welding cells.
  • Coordinate new technologies, equipment, and production solutions deployment.
  • Support investments, commissioning, and ramp-up activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Manage maintenance activities respecting quality, cost, timing, safety, and targets.
  • Support change management and ensure successful implementation of new solutions.
  • Prepare reports and communicate results to stakeholders.

Job Description
  • Lead and develop the Body-in-White Maintenance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of production equipment, automation systems, and robotic welding cells.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and production solutions.
  • Support investment projects, equipment commissioning, technical acceptance, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and equipment reliability.
  • Manage maintenance activities in line with quality, cost, timing, safety, and operational targets.
  • Support change management initiatives and ensure the successful implementation of new solutions.
  • Prepare reports, analyze results, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or a technical environment within the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience in a Body-in-White manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic welding processes and automated production systems.
  • Previous experience leading technical, maintenance, or operational teams.
  • Solid understanding of body manufacturing processes and welding technologies.
  • Experience working with KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop employees and build high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
