Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Principal Wastewater Modeller to join our Water team in a hybrid arrangement in Poland. You will lead the development, calibration and verification of wastewater network models and provide technical oversight across multiple projects.

You will work with UK water industry regulations, AMP cycles, and wastewater planning frameworks, mentoring junior staff and contributing to bids and business development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in wastewater network modelling within a consultancy or water utility environment (10+ years).
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard modelling software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM).
• Strong understanding of UK water industry regulations, AMP cycles, and wastewater planning frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, calibration and verification of wastewater network models (e.g., InfoWorks ICM or similar platforms).
• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across multiple projects, guiding wider project teams.
• Undertake and oversee technical and administrative tasks related to hydrology and groundwater investigations where required to inform modelling studies.
• Deliver assignments spanning hydrology and related disciplines with defined project terms and professional review.
• Analyse complex datasets and modeling outputs, preparing clear, high-quality technical reports and client deliverables.
• Monitor and interpret data to assess impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems and the wider environment, ensuring compliance.
• Act as technical lead on major frameworks and modelling programmes, supporting strategic planning and network resilience.
• Mentor and develop junior team members and contribute to bids and business development activities.
