Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Engineer with hydraulics and drainage design experience to join our Krakow team. You will contribute to infrastructure projects, preparing 2D/3D drawings, performing quantity calculations, and coordinating with senior engineers and other disciplines.

The role requires proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD, experience with StormCAD/OpenRoads Designer is a plus, and fluency in English. This is a on-site opportunity in Kraków with a diverse, global project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hydraulics and drainage design experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, with pipeline alignments and cross sections.
• Experience with StormCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of small projects or defined work packages within larger roadway infrastructure projects.
• Prepare project deliverables based on design inputs and requirements.
• Create and update 2D drawings, 3D models, and layouts.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting an Engineer with experience in Hydraulics and Drainage design, to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects. Our clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering water designs for many years, throughout the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand among others. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation and Water projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for Enterprise Capabilities.

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Support the delivery of small projects or defined work packages within larger roadway infrastructure projects under the supervision of experienced designers and senior engineers.
• Prepare project deliverables based on approved design inputs and project requirements.
• Prepare and update 2D drawings, 3D models and layouts.
• Perform quantity calculations in line with project requirements.
• Use engineering and CAD software to develop practical design solutions in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Perform self-checks of drawings, models, and documentation prior to submission for review.
• Coordinate assigned drafting and modeling tasks with team members across other disciplines, under the guidance of senior staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in hydraulics and drainage (H&D) design, with a clear interest in developing a technical career in this field.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, including setting up standards and creating pipeline alignments, profiles, cross sections, grading, and operations with surfaces.
• Experience with hydraulics and hydrology software packages such as StormCAD and OpenRoads Designer, etc., is well considered.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering or related field.
