Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, repair, and calibrate Steam Turbine systems at customer sites in Poland and abroad. You will diagnose issues, provide technical guidance, and ensure safety and compliance while coordinating with third-party contractors.

The role requires a degree or qualifying experience in field services or power generation, SEP certification, strong English, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel internationally (80%+).

Qualifications

• Technical/University degree or equivalent with field services experience.
• Experience in field services or power generation equipment maintenance.
• SEP certificate for group 2 - operations.
• Solid understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters.
• Valid driver’s license and English proficiency.
• Willingness to travel in Poland and internationally (80%+).

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and calibrate Steam Turbine systems on-site.
• Diagnose equipment issues and guide customers during aftersales upgrades.
• Supervise third-party tasks and ensure contractor compliance.
• Enforce GE safety standards and support customer satisfaction.
• Maintain technical reports, job updates, and logistics documentation.
• Coach and mentor team members to share knowledge.
• Travel extensively, including weekends/holidays, to meet project needs.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and perform on-site installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of Steam Turbine systems.
• Diagnose and repair equipment; provide technical guidance to customers and ensure successful aftermarket upgrades.
• Site Supervision: Oversee third-party critical tasks, perform installation walk-downs, and ensure contractor compliance.
• Quality & Safety: Enforce GE safety standards and drive customer satisfaction through high-quality work and technical sign-offs.
• Administrative Management: Maintain timely documentation, including technical reports, job status updates, expense reports, and material logistics.
• Leadership & Development: Coach and mentor team members to share product and field engineering knowledge.
• Operational Flexibility: Support project requirements through extensive travel, overtime, and work on weekends/holidays as necessary.
• Organizational Alignment: Support core values and vision through proactive task management.

Qualifications

• Technical/University degree or qualifying experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with experience in a Field Services role or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position
• SEP certificate for group 2 - operations.
• Solid understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters.
• Strong technical competence in basing steam turbines and auxiliaries services operations like: alignment, balancing, assessment, etc.
• Valid driver’s license.
• English proficiency required.
• Ability and willingness to travel in Poland and internationally (80%+).
