Job summary

SimCorp is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability, scalability, and performance across multiple products and services. You will partner with product teams to implement cloud-native, automated solutions on Microsoft Azure and champion ITIL practices.

You will design SLOs, manage incident response, and mentor junior engineers while participating in on‑call rotations. The role offers flexible hybrid work and collaboration with international clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5–8+ years in SRE or Cloud Infrastructure leadership.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure and cloud‑native reliability practices.
• Experience with IaC tools (Bicep, ARM, Terraform).
• Strong monitoring, incident management, and ITIL practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of SRE solutions: monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, self‑healing, reliability testing.
• Design and implement strategies for reliability, scalability, performance, capacity, and automation.
• Collaborate with product teams to optimize applications and infra using cross‑functional approaches.
• Build tools to eliminate toil and improve engineering velocity and reliability.
• Define and manage SLOs and error budgets with Engineering teams.
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document procedures.
• Participate in disaster recovery, configuration management and platform readiness tasks.
• Mentor junior SREs and participate in on‑call rotations (including weekends).

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for leading the efforts to maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of various SimCorp products and services. This individual will work collaboratively with product development teams across several lines of business and other stakeholders as a requirement to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. The candidate will need in-depth expertise and experience in Azure Cloud and associated technologies to address infrastructure challenges, implement automation solutions, and boost overall operational effectiveness.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Lead the development of SRE solutions, including monitoring and alerting, machine learning‑based anomaly detection, self‑healing mechanisms, and reliability testing strategies.
• Design and implement reliability, scalability, and performance strategies, while leading the development of initiatives for capacity planning, resource management, and automation opportunities across systems and onboarding pipelines.
• Collaborate with product development teams to optimize application performance and infrastructure, applying design‑thinking and agile methodologies in cross‑functional environments.
• Build tools and automation to eliminate manual TOIL, improve engineering velocity, developer experience, and improve system reliability.
• Define and manage SLOs and error budgets in partnership with Engineering teams.
• Contribute to incidents, problems, and change management processes.
• Execute disaster recovery, configuration management, and platform readiness tasks.
• Manage incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring timely resolution of outages and performance issues, and maintaining high‑quality documentation for operational processes and system configurations.
• Collaborate with Agile teams and take part in design discussions with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices, including change management, observability, and operational excellence, while staying current with technology trends through formal and self‑directed learning.
• Mentor and guide junior SREs, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge‑sharing, and participate in on‑call rotations (including weekends) as needed.
• Flexible working in regular & evening shift on rotational basis and providing weekend or On-Call support as needed.

WHAT WE VALUE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5–8+ years in SRE or Cloud Infrastructure leadership.
• Extensive expertise in Microsoft Azure, including production‑grade design, operations, and cloud‑native reliability practices.
• Must have expertise with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM and Terraform and comprehensive understanding of monitoring and incident frameworks.
• Solid experience in monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, DataDog, Log Analytics).
• Direct experience leading incident response, platform‑wide reliability improvements, and applying ITIL practices (problem, change, incident management).
• Experience working with observability frameworks like Open Telemetry and distributed tracing systems.
• Experience in centralizing authentication, managing user identities, and implementing secure access protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
• Experience setting up synthetic monitoring using Playwright or equivalent.
• Solid Understanding of networking, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Good understanding of APIs, scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, Kusto and databases like SQL, Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL.
• Established expertise in mentoring engineers, steering architectural decisions, and synchronizing long‑term strategies with actionable implementation.
• Knowledge of AI/ML-based anomaly detection, log aggregation and analysis tools like Microsoft Azure Anomaly Detector or equivalent.
• Familiarity with SimCorp Dimension & Salesforce User is a plus.
• Proficiency in IT service management (ITSM) frameworks like ITIL, focusing on incident, change, and problem management to improve operational efficiency.
• Experience managing both onboarding projects and live production operations.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
