SimCorp USA Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering for Observability and Monitoring. You will own two high-visibility teams responsible for the data foundation and alerting, driving a unified engineering group, and partnering with product managers and architects to deliver on the roadmap.
The role emphasizes leadership, a strong technical grounding in telemetry and monitoring, and an agenda of growth, reliability, and AI-enabled root-cause analysis across SimCorp’s platforms.
We are looking for a senior Manager, Engineering for our Observability and Monitoring teams. Someone who can take ownership of two high-visibility teams building the operational backbone of SimCorp One, and who is ready to help define how we see, detect, and resolve issues across the company before clients feel them.
Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are an innovative, curious, collaborative person who embraces challenges and wants to grow, learn and pursue outcomes with our prestigious financial clients, say Hello to SimCorp!
At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values — Caring, Customer success-driven, Collaborative, Curious, and Courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success. The AI & Insights area is building the foundation for reliable, intelligent operations of SimCorp's offerings. When something breaks in our systems, we need to know immediately, and our teams need to quickly be able to understand the root cause. Ideally, we see the signals in advance, initiate self-healing, and avoid interruptions for our clients. Observability and Monitoring are how we enable that.
The Observability team owns the data foundation: a standard, Open Telemetry-based way for every SimCorp system to emit logs, traces, and metrics, collected on a central Operational Data Platform that SREs, monitoring, and AI agents can all use. The Monitoring team owns what we do with that data: one governed monitoring standard with a single alert funnel, a standard alert payload, and one Grafana instance for dashboards and alert rules. Together, the two teams are the data and signal layer for AIOps: AI-assisted root-cause analysis, proactive resolution, and self-healing workflows.
You will partner closely with the Product Managers for Observability and Monitoring and with the architect to turn the roadmap into delivery, and you will report directly to the Senior Director of Engineering. You will also be part of the AI & Insights leadership team, contributing to the broader deliveries and growth of the area.
You take responsibility without being told to, dig in when things are unclear, and are comfortable deciding with incomplete information and following through.
You have led engineering teams before, ideally in a platform context, with a genuine track record of accountability for team outcomes and engagement.
You have a background in software or platform engineering and engage comfortably with telemetry (logs, traces, and metrics), instrumentation standards such as Open Telemetry, alerting, SLOs, and incident response. You are curious about how AI can speed up root-cause analysis and operations. You will not write production code, but you understand what your engineers build, ask the right questions, and spot when something is off.
You write and speak in plain, precise English, can explain a complex platform decision to a non-technical stakeholder, and represent your team with confidence in senior forums.
Compensation ranges are being disclosed at the initial stage of candidate engagement.
