Job description

We’re a global, people-first software house matching ambitious developers with challenging projects. Our team of over 100 professionals helps build and improve digital businesses, software platforms, eCommerce stores, websites, apps, and everything in between. And they’re good at it.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior/Lead Backend Developer who enjoys real ownership and can work independently in a greenfield environment. A full‑stack orientation is strongly preferred, especially if you’re comfortable supporting end‑to‑end flows and collaborating closely with a React‑based front‑end.

You’ll join a compact, dedicated team building a brand‑new ticket sales platform for a large Polish event agency. This is a full‑time and fully remote engagement starting in January, planned for 4–6 months, with a strong chance of continuing long‑term depending on the client’s roadmap.

Why this project is worth your attention:
  • 100% greenfield – you’ll help shape architecture and key decisions from day one
  • Real autonomy & decision‑making – we want your ideas, not just execution
  • End‑to‑end product scope with visible business impact
  • Support from experienced Polcode team: PDM, DevOps, QA, FE developer, plus CTO & Solutions Architect when needed
  • Strong potential for long‑term continuation – further product growth, scaling, new feature development and ongoing maintenance
Perks of being a #Polcoder:
  • Multisport card, private medical care, life insurance, and meaningful gifts to celebrate important days
  • All the necessary equipment for comfortable work
  • Professional onboarding process
  • We respect your private life – no overtime, no weekend jobs, work‑life balance only, promise!
  • Work at times that suit your daily rhythm, from the place of your choice
  • Your work is appreciated – we believe in the power of feedback, as well as the one you give us
TL;DR
  • 100% remote work
  • 0% nonsense
What we’re looking for:
  • Solid commercial experience as a Backend Developer, ideally also in a technical lead/project lead role
  • Advanced knowledge of Python in web development (FastAPI preferred)
  • Proven track record in building products from zero to release (greenfield)
  • Good understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, and integrations
  • Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and proactively propose solutions
  • Great communication skills and readiness to collaborate with the Polcode and client teams
  • Comfort working in regular European business hours (approx. 8‑16 / 9‑17 CET)
  • English at a level allowing smooth work with documentation and task descriptions
It would be great if you also have:
  • Full‑stack background and good understanding of frontend development – especially React / Next.js (big plus)
  • Experience with AWS / cloud environments and a DevOps‑friendly mindset
  • Familiarity with Redis, caching, queues, and session management
  • Background in e‑commerce or payment‑heavy systems
  • Experience with modular monolith / microservices‑ready design
  • Knowledge of security best practices (OAuth2/JWT, TLS/SSL, GDPR/RODO compliance)
Build a multi‑tenant ticketing e‑commerce platform
  • Co‑own and shape the technical architecture, standards, and development approach
  • Deliver core modules: stage creator (seats), events creation and management, user and organizer dashboard, payments flow and integration, tickets generation and distribution, admin tools
  • Design and implement REST APIs and integrate front‑end with back‑end services
  • Lead technical direction for the small delivery team (mentoring, code reviews, best practices)
  • Implement and oversee payment gateway, e‑commerce and other external service integrations
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and security suitable for large event traffic
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Delivery Manager, other team members and client stakeholders
  • Participate in estimations, planning, and defining milestones toward the first release
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation
Benefits and work environment
  • Sport subscription
  • Training budget
  • Private healthcare
  • Flat structure
  • International projects
  • Free coffee, bike parking
  • In‑house training, no dress code
