Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Poland (Gliwice, Opole, Wroclaw) seeks an Advanced SW/FW Platform Engineer (Level 4) to shape the architecture of our edge-based smart cameras. You will lead platform bring-up, Yocto BSP design, and NPU acceleration, bridging hardware and software with a focus on robust system design.

You will mentor senior engineers, craft Linux-based services in modern C++, and collaborate with hardware teams to tackle complex system challenges in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Deep Linux internals experience including kernel, bootloaders and systemd services.
• Strong, modern C++ design for high-performance, modular systems.
• Track record of solving multi-layered system and hardware integration challenges.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Set architectural vision for Linux-based smart camera platforms and design robust platform management services in modern C++.
• System Bring-up Strategy: Define custom Yocto layers and BSP architectures linking hardware to software.
• Advanced NPU Orchestration: Architect integration of on-board NPUs for real-time image processing.
• Process Innovation: Champion agentic AI coding methodologies to scale team output and code quality.
• Cross-Functional Debugging: Resolve deep hardware/software boundary issues using schematics, logic analyzers, probes, and oscilloscopes.
