Job summary

Slate seeks a proactive Material Planning Supervisor, Crew B, on the Second Shift to lead a high-volume automotive planning team. You will oversee MRPs, coordinate with production, procurement and logistics, and drive lean optimization across the supply chain.

Strong background in ERP/MRP systems and a track record of reducing costs while ensuring material availability for on-time manufacturing is essential. This role targets leadership in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years related experience with Bachelor’s degree
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex, FUUZ, Etc.)
• Proven leadership experience coaching and developing high-performing teams
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)

Responsibilities

• Lead material planning team and set goals and expectations
• Run daily planning meetings with production, procurement and logistics
• Develop and implement strategic material planning processes
• Create and manage MRPs based on forecasts and orders
• Ensure timely procurement and avoid overstocking
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery/quality issues
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and PFEP
• Support NPI and change management activities
• Establish SOPs for material planning and drive improvements
• Optimize cost-saving while maintaining quality and productivity
