Job summary

Citi Solutions Center Poland is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to drive the technical direction of a risk analytics platform. You will design and own end-to-end Java services, mentor teammates, and deliver scalable, low-latency solutions in a distributed setup.

The role focuses on real-time data pipelines, risk analytics, and a DevOps-first delivery model. Qualifications include 8+ years in backend systems, strong Java/Spring, SQL Server, Kafka, Redis, and OpenShift.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing, building and deploying enterprise-scale backend systems.
• Deep Java expertise (Java 21+) and Spring ecosystem knowledge (Spring Boot, Spring Security).
• Strong SQL Server experience and query optimization skills.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems.
• Leadership and mentorship track record to drive architectural decisions.
• CI/CD and Git, plus containerization with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own end-to-end Java-based services in a Spring ecosystem.
• Lead sub-teams, mentor engineers, and drive architectural discussions.
• Engineer high-throughput, low-latency systems; optimize data models in MS SQL Server.
• Design and implement real-time data pipelines using Kafka and Pinot for analytics.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deploy on OpenShift; promote DevOps practices.
• Collaborate across teams with PMs and analysts to translate requirements into solutions.
• Own the full application lifecycle and provide production support, including risk analytics knowledge.
