Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Lead Java Backend Developer to design scalable enterprise platforms using distributed systems and cloud-native architectures. You will build real-time streaming and time-series data platforms, craft microservices, and implement CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns.

The role requires 7+ years in Java/Spring Boot, deep knowledge of Kafka, CosmosDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and modern Java tooling. Hybrid work with 3 days onsite per week in Poland.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as JPA and iBatis.
• Knowledge of security protocols including Azure AD and OAuth.
• Proficiency with Kafka, CosmosDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Familiarity with REST, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Skills in build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
• Background in microservices and data streaming architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable enterprise platforms leveraging distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Build and maintain real-time streaming and time-series data platforms with high performance and high throughput.
• Develop microservices and data streaming solutions using modern Java frameworks.
• Apply resilience engineering and security best practices across backend systems.
• Translate business requirements into global technical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance software development efficiency.
• Implement CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns within enterprise architecture.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices and modern software development standards.
• Adapt architectural approaches to complex business and regulatory domains.
