Job summary

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a Lead Embedded C/C++ Engineer to drive design and development of advanced telecommunications systems. This hands-on technical leadership role requires both deep embedded expertise and a clear architectural vision.

You will mentor a team of embedded engineers, lead code reviews and roadmaps, and collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and system teams in Linux environments, while building robust APIs/SDKs and Python automation.

Qualifications

• Embedded leadership: 8+ years of embedded C/C++ development with technical leadership experience.
• OS & tooling: Strong background in Linux environments and Python automation.
• Strong system-level thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical roadmaps.
• Platform integration: Hands-on experience with vendor SDKs and platform bring-up.
• API/SDK development: Experience creating low-level APIs and SDKs for silicon integration.
• 5G/LTE L1 on SoC: Experience implementing Layer 1 (Physical Layer) protocols on System-on-Chip architectures.
• Nice to Have: DSP & MATLAB; RFSoC & FPGA; O-RAN & O-RU software design.

Responsibilities

About the Role

O-RAN & O-RU: Software design for Open Radio Units (O-RU) utilizing O-RAN 7.2 splits and eCPRI.
