Job summary

NES Fircroft in Kraków is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for petrochemical, refinery, and industrial facilities, and to develop and maintain documentation such as SLDs and schematics. You will coordinate interfaces with clients and suppliers, perform calculations, review vendor docs, and support FAT activities.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within an engineering or EPC environment.
• Experience in industrial, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, or energy-related projects.
• Ability to independently manage electrical engineering activities from proposal through detailed design and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for petrochemical, refinery, and industrial facilities.
• Develop and maintain electrical engineering documentation, including Single Line Diagrams, protection and control schematics, and connection diagrams.
• Perform electrical calculations such as load flow, cable sizing, lighting design, and grounding studies.
• Prepare technical specifications, MTOs, and inquiry packages for electrical equipment.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with clients, vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with contracts and standards.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for electrical equipment.
• Support procurement and subcontracting activities, including Bills of Quantities.
• Provide technical support during construction and supervise electrical installation activities as required.
• Develop project-specific electrical engineering guidelines and execution plans in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for petrochemical, refinery, and industrial facilities.

Develop and maintain electrical engineering documentation, including:

• Single Line Diagrams
• Protection and Control Schematics
• Terminal Connection Diagrams
• Cable Routing, Lighting, and Grounding Layouts

Perform electrical calculations, including:

• Load Flow and Power Balance Studies
• Cable Sizing Calculations
• Lighting Design and Illumination Calculations
• Grounding and Lightning Protection Studies

Prepare technical specifications, material take-offs (MTOs), and inquiry packages for electrical equipment.

Coordinate technical interfaces with clients, vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Review and verify project and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and applicable regulations.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for electrical equipment.

Support procurement and subcontracting activities, including preparation of Bills of Quantities.

Provide technical support during construction and supervise electrical installation activities when required.

Analyze technical contract requirements and develop project-specific electrical engineering guidelines and execution plans.

Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager regarding project schedules, budgets, resource planning, priorities, and technical solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within an engineering or EPC environment.
• Proven experience in industrial, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, or energy-related projects.
• Ability to independently manage electrical engineering activities from proposal and concept stages through detailed design and project execution.

Strong knowledge of:

• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with ETAP or other power system analysis software is considered an advantage.

Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

High level of professionalism, accountability, and problem-solving capability.
