Job summary

Simple Machines Pty Ltd is seeking a Principal Data Engineer based in Poland to lead platform and architecture design for cloud-native data platforms. You will build greenfield data platforms, real-time pipelines, and data products for clients who demand robust, scalable solutions.

You will work in high-caliber teams, own engineering standards, and mentor engineers while shaping modern data architectures and governance within client engagements.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL expertise.
• Deep experience with Spark and modern data platforms (Databricks / Snowflake).
• Solid grasp of cloud data services (AWS or GCP).
• Experience designing large-scale data platforms and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform and architecture design for cloud-native data platforms.
• Build and deliver greenfield data platforms, real-time pipelines, and data products.
• Develop high-performance batch and real-time pipelines using Kafka, Flink, Kinesis, Pub/Sub.
• Ensure platforms are secure, compliant, and production-grade by design.
• Consult with clients to translate business needs into engineering solutions.
