Job summary

SoftServe is seeking an experienced automation engineer to drive the evolution of automated quality engineering for large-scale European Commission digital solutions supporting grants and experts management. You will collaborate with international delivery teams to shape automation architecture, expand continuous testing practices, and uplift software quality across web, API, backend, and mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, and RestAssured.
• Proven experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber JVM or Behave.
• Practical knowledge of Generative AI technologies applied to test generation and quality engineering.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies including equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis.
• Strong Java development with OpenJDK 11/17/21, including Collections, Streams, and Lambdas.
• Experience with performance and load testing using Apache JMeter.
• Familiarity with Angular and SCSS.
• Experience validating data serialization using Protocol Buffers, Jackson, and Gson.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Maven/Gradle.
• Strong SQL and Oracle database expertise.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security testing.
• Experience with Amazon Kiro.
• English or French language proficiency (B2+).

In this role, you will drive the evolution of automated quality engineering for large-scale European Commission digital solutions supporting grants and experts management.

Working alongside international delivery teams, you will shape automation architecture, expand continuous testing practices, and improve software quality across web, API, backend, and mobile platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable automation frameworks supporting web, API, backend, and mobile testing
• Define automation architecture, testing strategy, and quality engineering best practices across multiple applications
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and shift-left quality initiatives

• Drive the transition from manual testing toward sustainable, enterprise-scale automation coverage

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong expertise in Java development with OpenJDK 11, 17, and 21, including Collections, Streams, and Lambda expressions
• Hands-on experience with performance and load testing using Apache JMeter
• Familiarity with Angular and SCSS
• Experience validating data serialization using Protocol Buffers, Jackson, and Gson
• Proficiency with JUnit, TestNG, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and modern CI/CD practices
• Strong SQL and Oracle database expertise, including complex query design and validation activities
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JJWT, Bearer token validation, and API security testing
• Experience with Amazon Kiro
• Ability to communicate effectively within multicultural and international delivery environments
• Understanding of grant lifecycle management processes, including submission, evaluation, agreements, reporting, and amendments
• Ability to quickly adopt new automation frameworks, languages, and CI/CD technologies
• EQF Level 7 degree (typically Master's level) with extensive professional experience in software engineering and test automation
• EQF Level 6 degree (typically Bachelor's level) with significant experience delivering enterprise-scale quality engineering solutions
• Professional proficiency in English or French (B2 level or higher)
