Job summary

DCG is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our testing team. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests for backend APIs in Java, and frontend end-to-end tests with Playwright and TypeScript.

You will perform functional and regression testing for new features and document defects clearly to ensure high quality releases. The role requires 4+ years in software testing with hands-on automation, strong Java API testing skills, and experience with Playwright, TypeScript, as well as

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in software testing/QA with hands-on test automation.
• Strong experience with Java, especially for API testing.
• Hands-on Playwright and TypeScript for frontend end-to-end testing.
• Solid understanding of frontend testing principles and the test pyramid.
• Experience with JIRA and qTest or similar test management tools.
• Familiarity with Git or another version control system; CI/CD tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

QA Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for backend APIs using Java
• Create and maintain frontend end-to-end automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript
• Perform functional and regression testing of newly developed and modernized application features
• Identify, reproduce, analyze, and clearly document software defects
• Validate edge cases and challenge assumptions to ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, Product Owners, and other project stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation practices
• Maintain test documentation and manage testing activities using JIRA and qTest
• Work with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Jenkins

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in software testing / QA, including hands‑on test automation
• Strong experience with Java, particularly for API testing
• Practical experience with Playwright and TypeScript for frontend end‑to‑end testing
• Solid understanding of frontend testing principles and the test pyramid
• Experience with JIRA and qTest or similar test management tools
• Knowledge of Git or another version control system
• Familiarity with Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools
• Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills
• Ability to identify edge cases and uncover potential quality risks
• Strong attention to detail and a quality‑first mindset
• Ability to clearly reproduce, analyze, and document defects
• Proactive attitude and ownership of assigned tasks
• Very good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business roles
