Job summary

Grid Dynamics is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive the design and delivery of cutting-edge AI solutions, with a strong emphasis on Generative AI and Agentic AI. You will lead technically while shaping strategy, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with stakeholders to move concepts into production.

The role combines hands-on leadership with architecture responsibilities, guiding end-to-end projects across AI/ML domains in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing and scaling production-grade AI/ML systems.
• 2+ years of proven team lead experience in Agile environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and its ecosystem across AI/ML, web services, and data engineering.
• Expertise in open/closed-source LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, Agentic AI, vector/hybrid search, document processing, guardrails, LLM evaluation, and monitoring/observability.
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and ML managed services (e.g., Vertex AI, SageMaker).
• Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills, with a track record of leading client and stakeholder discussions.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Technical Leadership: Lead software projects end-to-end, defining AI system architecture while staying hands-on with implementation alongside the team.
• Engineering Excellence & Mentorship: Set technical direction, establish engineering best practices, and mentor engineers across the team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with business and product stakeholders to align technical strategy with strategic goals.
• Production Delivery: Deliver enterprise AI/ML solutions from POC to production, ensuring continuous improvements, system reliability, and long-term support.
• Innovation with Pragmatism: Stay ahead of AI trends, integrating emerging technologies like Agentic AI, guardrails, and fine-tuning while maintaining operational pragmatism.
