Job summary

PUM is seeking a Country Manager Kenya to lead a freelance team of 7 Country Representatives, drive partnerships, secure funding, and ensure alignment with regional goals. The role requires leadership, strategic fundraising, and a deep understanding of Kenya’s SME ecosystem.

The position is based in Kenya on an independent contractor basis, with about 37.5 hours per week and travel as needed. You will coordinate with regional teams and programme managers to maximise impact and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of experience in a coordinating or leadership role.
• Strong fundraising capabilities and donor engagement experience.
• Extensive local SME network across Kenya.
• Experience with remote collaboration in international organisations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Country Impact Plan (CIP) aligned with PUM’s mission and strategy.
• Strengthen business ecosystems through partnerships with SMEs and wider networks.
• Identify, develop and secure funding from donors and partners.
• Build and coach the country representative team and ensure acquisition quality.
• Ensure compliance with policies, timelines and quality across projects.
