Job summary

AFRY is seeking a civil/structural engineer to support wastewater treatment plant projects in Central Europe. Location: Poland with hybrid work flexibility, primarily in Poznań, Kraków, or Łódź. You will design concrete structures, size components, and coordinate with BIM teams across disciplines.

Requirements include 3–5 years in structural engineering, strong BIM skills (openBIM, BIMCollab), and English proficiency (B2–C1). German skills and HOAI/SIA familiarity are desirable.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of structural engineering experience.
• Team-oriented with multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Fluent English (B2–C1).
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Solid BIM knowledge and collaboration platforms (BIMCollab, openBIM).
• Proficient structural software: SOFiSTiK, Tekla, Allplan.

Responsibilities

• Design civil structures for wastewater treatment facilities (reinforced concrete).
• Perform basic sizing based on process engineers; collect data from machinery, HVAC and EMCR.
• Follow design stages per Swiss SIA and German HOAI; ensure compliance with codes.
• Design using BIM with modelers; participate in meetings and conferences.
• Report progress to Project Manager and coordinate with stakeholders.
