Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Poland is hiring for an IT professional to join the global IT function supporting the manufacturing plant and local IT teams.

You will maintain and develop applications that power manufacturing systems, support MES, and analyze IT issues, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires higher IT education and strong English and Polish skills, plus programming and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Higher education in Information Technology or related fields.
• Excellent command of English and Polish, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge in databases, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, and AI.
• Programming skills and ability to solve problems.
• Strong analytical and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Daily support for the manufacturing plant and local IT department.
• Maintenance and development of applications supporting manufacturing systems.
• Support for MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Analyze and troubleshoot errors in IT systems.
• Resolve issues related to devices and applications in IT areas.
• Create technical documentation and IT procedures.
• Contribute to projects and process improvements.

The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily support for the manufacturing plant along with the local IT department.
• Maintenance and development of applications supporting manufacturing systems.
• Support for MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Analysis and troubleshooting of errors occurring in IT systems.
• Resolving current issues related to devices and applications in IT areas.
• Providing services in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Seeking improvements to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.
• Creating technical documentation and IT procedures.
• Participation in projects.

Requirements

• Higher education in Information Technology (or related fields).
• Very good command of English and Polish, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge in various selected IT fields such as databases, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence.
• Programming skills.
• Analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to identify and solve problems, as well as to work effectively in a team.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the SAP system.
• Knowledge of MS Windows Server.
• Understanding of MS Business Intelligence and MS Power BI.
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server.
• Experience in project management.
• Object programming in C# or Java.
