Strada is seeking a Payroll Administrator to perform end-to-end payroll life-cycle activities and ensure accurate, timely processing. You will work with German and English speakers, supporting Austrian payroll processes and global teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Advanced German and English skills (minimum B2).
• 1-2 years of payroll administration, HR operations, or similar HR/Payroll experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform payroll life-cycle transactions to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Support payroll tasks using the ticketing system and client-specific requirements.
• Monitor ticket queues and ensure timely handling within defined thresholds.
• Use hrX suite tools related to payroll processing and activities.
• Interpret payslips and follow the payroll calendar.
• Produce payroll reports and assist with statutory reporting requirements.
• Review payroll data for accuracy, escalate corrections as needed.
• Answer payroll questions via phone, email, or ticketing systems.
• Support SOX/SOC1 controls, DWIs, and payroll system maintenance testing.
• Stay up-to-date on Austrian payroll legislation and procedures.

Overall objective of the Role Performs all life-cycle payroll transactions and activities to ensure the processing of an accurate and timely payroll. Displays decision-making skills that support company and payroll policies.

Key responsibilities:

• Support and manage payroll tasks using the appropriate ticket and payroll systems, applying defined standards and client-specific requirements
• Monitor and manage ticket queues using the appropriate tools to ensure tickets are handled within defined timelines and thresholds
• Utilize the hrX suite of tools as it relates to payroll processing and associated activities
• Understand and interpret payslips
• Understand and follow the payroll calendar
• Identify deviations from the standard scope of service and act accordingly, including supporting change request opportunities
• Recognize and handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Produce and understand standard and client-specific payroll reports, including support for statutory reporting requirements
• Review and validate payroll data for accuracy and completeness, escalating or initiating corrections when required
• Answer payroll-related questions and requests through agreed communication channels (phone, e-mail, ticketing systems)
• Support and execute SOX/SOC1 controls and compliance activities
• Maintain and follow Defined Work Instructions (DWIs)
• Support transactions with third parties where required
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities and collaborate with team members
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities
• Support payroll system maintenance testing and issue resolution activities
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Austrian payroll legislation, system updates, and payroll procedures
• Participate in projects and activities as needed and assigned

Required Experience:

• Knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Advanced German & English skills (minimum B2)
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in Payroll administration, HR Operations, or a similar HR/Payroll environment
• Experience or interest in Austrian payroll processes is an advantage
• Flexibility to support a global and fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn HRIS knowledge
