Job summary

Ericsson GmbH in Poland (Łódź) is hiring a Layer 1 developer to join the SIMS team and help prepare the UE Simulator for 6G. You will contribute to Layer 1 development and support Ericsson internal users with a pivotal product for 6G.

The role works in a hybrid model with at least 3 days in the office. You will explore AI-first engineering, Specification-Driven Development and multithreaded software for high‑performance simulations, collaborating with international colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in CS/Telecom or related field.
• Basic embedded programming knowledge.
• Proficient in C/C++ and DPDK.
• Knowledge of multithreading and L1/L2 protocols.
• Fluent in English communication.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an agile team contributing to Layer 1 development of a UE Simulator.

About this opportunity

We are now looking for engaged Layer 1 developer to join our team based in Poland! The team will work on how to prepare for development of a powerful UE Simulator meeting the needs of 6G. The team will later be the core team for actual development of the 6G UE simulator.

The Simulation Services (SIMS) unit is responsible for providing Simulators to product development within Business Area Networks. These Simulators are used in product verification instead of real mobile phones and real core networks. The SIMS responsibility includes development of internal solutions for Simulators, including our main simulator CSIM FsUE NR and sourcing of Simulators from external vendors.

What you will do

• Be part of an agile team that contributes to Layer 1 development of a UE Simulator
• Work in an exciting technical area, supporting Ericsson internal users with an important product for 6G
• Have the possibility to drive innovation and make new insights reality
• Get the opportunity to work with everything needed in a team: analysis, system design, pre-development and implementation in small increments and ensuring short feedback loops
• Leverage Agentic AI and Specification-Driven Development to accelerate development of the UE Simulator platform

You will bring

• MSc or BSc level (or last semesters) in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent level of knowledge
• Entry level knowledge about embedded programming, ideally within the telecom sector
• Proven software engineering skills with ability to write high-quality code (e.g. C or C++) and knowledge in DPDK
• Knowledge of multithreading and parallel processing and understanding of L1 or L2 Protocols
• Strong interest in working in an AI-first engineering environment, leveraging Agentic AI and coding assistants to improve productivity and software quality
• Experience with, or eagerness to learn, Specification-Driven Development and AI-driven software engineering practices
• Good speaking and writing skills in English
