Job summary

SmartBear in Wroclaw, Poland is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join an international team building features for API development. You will contribute to the world’s leading API design and testing platform, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and UX specialists on Portal, Catalog, and Studio features.

You will implement new functionality, maintain quality through tests, and participate in design reviews while growing your skillset in modern Java technologies.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of Java development experience (Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3+).
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and writing maintainable code.
• Experience or knowledge of designing and consuming web services (REST APIs) and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of design patterns and performance best practices.
• Experience with AI for accelerating development activities.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related domains
• English on at least B2 level.

About the role:

As a Junior Backend Engineer you will be working on an international team to build new features and capabilities of the world’s best solution for API development, focused primarily on Portal, Catalog and Studio. You can look forward to working with our best and brightest engineers, product managers, and UX folks.

• Implementing new functionality in close cooperation with stakeholders.

We are looking for you if you have:

• Knowledge of design patterns and performance best practices.
