Job summary

SmartBear is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer in Wroclaw to join an international team and contribute to API development for Portal, Catalog, and Studio. You will implement new features, ensure clean code, and collaborate across product teams.

The role requires 1–2+ years in Java, Spring Boot, REST, and PostgreSQL, with a BS in CS or related field and English at least B2. On-site in Wroclaw with growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of Java development experience (Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3+).
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and writing maintainable code.
• Experience with designing and consuming REST APIs and RDBMS like PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of design patterns and performance best practices.
• Experience with AI to accelerate development activities.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related domains
• English on at least B2 level.

About the role:

As a Junior Backend Engineer you will be working on an international team to build new features and capabilities of the world’s best solution for API development, focused primarily on Portal, Catalog and Studio. You can look forward to working with our best and brightest engineers, product managers, and UX folks.

• Implementing new functionality in close cooperation with stakeholders.
