Job summary

Commerzbank AG in Łódź is seeking a Java Developer to help build cloud services within the Advisory Frontends team. You will implement new interfaces and integrate product interfaces for Unternehmer360 and cobaQ, collaborating with business analysts and operations experts.

You will work in an agile international environment, gaining exposure to microservices in cloud environments, and advancing with Java/Spring, REST APIs, Kafka, and CI/CD while following best practices for code quality and

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java with Spring framework and cloud native development.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with unit testing for reliable software.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design for scalable solutions.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
• Experience in cloud-based microservices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Fluency in English (minimum B2).

Join our team as a Java Developer!

The cluster Advisory Tools (AT) delivers fast, client-focused Digital Banking products and services for all channels (Online, Mobile, Branch and Customer Desk). In the cell “Advisory Frontends” you will work on the implementation of new cloud applications including the integration of product interfaces for our innovative and intuitive products Unternehmer360 (small/medium business clients advisory tool) & cobaQ (Wealth Management advisory tool). You will develop new frontends, modules or interfaces for these products in close co-operation with business analysts and application operation experts of your team.

As a Java Developer, you will play a major role in the development of different cloud services in the “Advisory Frontends” cell. You will be integrating existing product interfaces as well as developing new interfaces for our products “Unternehmer360” and “cobaQ”. You should already have meaningful experience in the development of web applications with microservice architecture, running in cloud environment. You will be part of an agile international team and you will be given the opportunity to learn many new technologies and develop yourself further.

Your main tasks are:

• Develop reusable cloud services based on complex business requirements to support product functionality.
• Design and implement interfaces connecting frontend applications with backend systems.
• Integrate existing systems from the Commerzbank IT landscape to deliver new business functionalities.
• Support incident resolution and bug fixing in close cooperation with the testing team.
• Contribute to a development culture that values code quality, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Work within an agile environment and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Refinements, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

What is important for us?

• Proficiency in Java and related Java frameworks (especially Spring).
• Basic knowledge of message/queue systems, particularly Apache Kafka.
• Experience with unit testing, ensuring code reliability and maintainability.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles for scalable and modular solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, fostering collaboration and adaptability.
• Confident use and design of REST APIs in line with internal coding standards and guidelines.
• Ability to design interfaces according to frontend requirements.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices to streamline and automate development workflows.
• Fluency in English at a minimum B2 level.
