Job summary

Optiveum invites an experienced Java Developer to join a leading Polish bank, delivering end-to-end backend development with Java 17+ and strong React frontend collaboration. You will design features, implement tests, and contribute to architecture while ensuring performance, security and reliability in a hybrid Warsaw setting.

The role requires 5+ years in OO programming, Spring Boot, REST/SOAP APIs, and DevOps collaboration.

Qualifications

• Min. 5 years of commercial OOP experience.

About our client

For our client, the unquestionable leader in the Polish banking sector and one of the largest financial institutions in the region, we are looking for an experienced Java Developer. You will join a team creating innovative solutions used by millions of users every day.

About the role

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development and maintenance of core banking applications. We are looking for a candidate who feels perfectly at home in the backend (Java 17+) but also brings solid commercial experience in frontend development (React).

Your responsibilities:

• Implementing new features and modifying existing applications and services.
• Designing new architectural solutions and analyzing available technical options.
• Creating unit and integration tests for built applications.
• Ensuring high software quality, focusing on performance, security, and reliability.
• Actively participating in project design phases and documenting implemented code.

Our expectations:

• Min. 5 years of commercial experience* in Object-Oriented Programming.
• Practical knowledge of Java SE 17* (or newer) and the Spring framework (Boot, Integration).
• Commercial experience with frontend technologies, specifically React*.
• Good understanding of relational databases.
• Fluency in integration standards: REST, SOAP, XML, JSON.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and project tools: Git, Maven, Jira, Jenkins.
• Higher education degree in IT or a related field, combined with strong analytical thinking skills.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with the GCP cloud environment (BigQuery, CloudSQL, Pub/Sub).
• Experience with message brokers and topics (Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, Google Pub/Sub).
• Practical knowledge of non-relational databases (NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes Engine, Anthos).
• Previous experience working on Campaign Management projects.

What is offered:

• Salary: 110 – 130 PLN net/h (B2B) depending on your experience.
• Work model: Hybrid (minimum 1 day a week working from a modern office in Warsaw).
