Job summary

Altkom Software is seeking a Junior Java Developer in Poland to join a team delivering maintenance and optimization projects for leading clients in the banking sector. You will work on building and maintaining complex banking systems, with roughly 80% backend (Java) and 20% frontend (Angular).

The role emphasizes learning and knowledge sharing in a non-corporate, cooperative environment. We offer flexible hours and remote work options, with an attractive Warsaw-area office for on-site or hybrid

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Java development with Angular focus (approx. 80% backend / 20% frontend).
• Daily work with Spring (Framework, Boot, MVC, etc.).
• Knowledge of relational databases (SQL, PL/SQL).
• Experience with Docker, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Kafka.
• Experience with Camunda.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and share knowledge.
• Team player with strong communication and goal-oriented attitude.

We are currently looking for a Junior Java Developer to join one of our teams delivering maintenance and optimization projects for leading clients in the banking sector. We are looking for someone who wants to develop their skills in building and maintaining complex banking systems.

In this position you will:

• collaborate with the client and participate in project delivery,
• manage knowledge and quality through code reviews and supporting the team in sharing knowledge and skills,
• respond to incidents reported by clients,
• work closely with other team members to analyze root causes and develop the most effective solutions.

We are looking for you, if you:

• have at least 2 years of commercial software development experience,
• design and develop software using Java and, preferably, Angular (approx. 80% backend and 20% frontend),
• work with Spring (Framework, Boot, MVC, etc.) on a daily basis,
• have knowledge of relational databases (SQL, PL/SQL),
• are interested in working with technologies such as Docker, Ansible, Elasticsearch, and Kafka,
• have experience with Camunda,
• are eager to learn new technologies and share your knowledge,
• are a team player,
• have strong communication skills,
• are goal-oriented – you are resourceful, look for solutions, and don't give up easily.

Additionally, we value:

• experience in the financial sector,
• knowledge of container orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes),
• knowledge of principles for writing high-quality code (SOLID, DRY, Clean Code),
• knowledge of English,
• experience using AI tools to support software development, documentation creation, etc.,
• experience in building modern solutions based on language models.
